The Reverend Travis Pearson
I was born and raised in Aiken, SC in a loving family. I grew up in St. John's UMC, so I have always had the wonderful balance of my home-family and my church-family working together to help nurture my relationship with Christ.
I attended undergrad at Coastal Carolina University where I met my wife Becky. While I was a sophomore at Coastal, I felt the call in to ministry, received an offer to become a youth director just south of Columbia, and subsequently transferred to the University of South Carolina to finish my biology degree while working with Beulah UMC. I finished my B.S. degree in 2010 and immediately enrolled with Asbury Theological Seminary.
Becky and I got married in 2012 once she completed her master's degree in clinical and mental health counseling from Winthrop. I made myself available for appointment in 2013 (after working with two other churches as a director of student ministries from 2011-2014) and became the associate pastor at Main Street UMC in 2014. I completed my MDiv in 2015 and am thrilled to come serve alongside Carteret Street as your associate pastor!
Becky and I love being outdoors, we are always looking for some kayaking buddies. I also have an old tennis racket that desperately needs dusting off (I "played" tennis in high school). We have two dogs (Sampson and Ginger), and a ridiculously fluffy cat (Mr. Zeke) adopted us a few years ago.
